I've never bought yarn from a Walmart. Here we are in Italy's version of Walmart: Bennet, where you can buy clothing, toiletries, stuff for your car, books, wine/beer/liquor, office supplies, groceries (including more varieties of pasta than you'd believe) and oh yes, yarn. 100% acrylic yarn, for a little over a dollar a ball. NO, GRAZIE!
A couple of years ago when we were in Rome, my son found one yarn shop that sold Lana Grotto yarn. The store was laid out curiously. In essence, one would never know that it was a yarn shop. The yarn, needles and accessories were kept in drawers or in the back room. Only the models of projects were on the floors. Your post makes me want to dive into my Rome stash.

Having a bear of a time printing the charts for Sherwood. Keep popping up microscopic. Any hints? Might you have them in PDFs? Sorry to bother you.
